Spine Decompression
In Capital Clinic we are proud to use the Antalgic-Trak, which is an improved form of non-surgical spinal decompression and it is the only ROM spinal decompression system in the world.
With traction, the elongation process is a simple pull and release of pre-set weight. There is no regard for the time required to reach pull-weight or how long the pull-weight is held.
With decompression, the pulling process can be controlled in a variety of patterns that enhance the treatment outcome. In other words, we can achieve better and longer lasting results. The pattern of the pull and release forces are accomplished with specially programmed computers that control and monitor the session.
What Makes The Pulling Pattern Special?
Unlike traction, the decompression pattern has the ability to stimulate a series of physiological tissue changes. Research has shown that these changes may help heal the disc and surrounding tissues.
What is the difference between “linear” and “ROM (Range of Motion)” decompression?
With linear, the patient is treated in a neutral “lying flat” posture that cannot be varied or changed. It is a one-postured, one-directional therapy. With ROM decompression, the patient can be placed in the posture that best suits their condition. It is a multi-directional, multi-postural customizable system. For example: a patient whose spine is rotated and tilted to the left can be counter rotated and tilted to the right.
Antalgic-Trak’s patented posturing system provides improved options for arthritis, scoliosis, stenosis, spondylosis, segment subluxation, disc bulges, herniation and pinched nerves.
Why Is Rom Decompression A Therapy Breakthrough?
Range of motion articulating decompression enables the therapy to reach areas of the spine that the “one-postured systems” miss. Injuries to the disc’s outer cartilage border is often the result of a spinal decompression. It can be treated more effectively by strategically positioning the spine off of the injured disc while it is being decompressed. MRI studies reveal that decompression can improve vertebral spacing and disc hydration (moisture) it is the process we use to retract a bulging disc off the nerve.
What Can Be Treated With This Device?
- All disc bulges and prolapses
- All diseases and injuries to the disc
- Injuries and disorders of the Sciatic nerve, also known as “Sciatica”
- All forms of muscle spasms of the spine
- Scoliosis
- Arthritis of the apophyseal joint of the spine
- Paresthesia of the upper and lower limbs
